Vladimir de Franceschi is a corporate and securities attorney with 15+ years of experience providing business and legal advice to privately-held IT and medtech companies in Silicon Valley, as well as their angel, venture capital and corporate investors and acquirers, on equity and debt offerings, commercial debt facilities, intellectual property licensing, joint-venturing, restructuring and merger and acquisition transactions.

Vladimir is also a global director at the Founder Institute, the world’s largest startup accelerator, operating in 60 countries that graduates over 1000 startups per year worldwide. He launched the Founder Institute’s program in Croatia that has graduated over 40 startups since 2013. Vladimir has also mentored startups from Argentina, Austria, China, Colombia, Croatia, Finland, Netherlands, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and USA. He has been a guest lecturer on entrepreneurship and venture finance in the US and a speaker at venture capital and technology entrepreneurship conferences in the EU and China.

Vladimir holds a BA from UCLA, an MA and Biotechnology Professional Certification from UCSD and a JD from Stanford.

Vladimir is experienced in start-up formation, venture capital financings and other private equity and debt offerings, as well as commercial debt facilities, intellectual property licensing, joint-venturing, corporate restructuring and merger and acquisition transactions of privately-held companies. He has represented emerging growth companies in a variety of industries, such as, AI, social media, medical device, mobile health, consumer web, enterprise software and semiconductor. Vladimir has represented or negotiated opposite a range of angel, venture capital and corporate investors on domestic and cross-border equity investments, including KPBC, Sequoia, DFJ, VantagePoint, ePlanet Ventures, Sierra Ventures, Canaan Partners, Y Combinator, 500 Startups, TechStars, The Hit Forge, Essar Communications, Mitsui, United Health Group and Shenzhen Hepalink Pharmaceutical Co.

Vladimir previously practiced corporate and securities law at the Venture Law Group, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Baker & McKenzie and De Franceschi & Boray (a law firm he founded in 2010 and sold in 2014). Before practicing law, Vladimir was an international consumer marketing researcher and a strategic business planner for Sony’s engineering and manufacturing operations in the Americas.
